The Sex Offender Registry website is updated regularly based on information provided by state and local government agencies and the registrants themselves.  The site is intended to provide the public with information concerning the location of sex offenders.  The registration information available on this website will be updated on a regular basis to reflect the most current information on file with the South Dakota State Division of Criminal Investigation.  Registrants are required to verify their address every six months and upon a change of address.  Registrants do move and may fail to notify the relevant law enforcement office of their change in residence. As a result, law enforcement cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information.

The Yankton Police Department has not considered or assessed the specific risk of re-offense with regard to any individual prior to inclusion within this registry, and has made no determination about any individual included in the registry.  Individuals included within the registry are included solely by the virtue of a conviction record and South Dakota Codified Law (SDCL).  The main purpose of providing this data on the Internet is to make the information more easily available and accessible, not to warn about any specific individual.

Warning:

The purpose of this list is to promote public safety from the potential risks posed by individuals who have committed offenses in the past.  Use of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass any person on this list, including vandalism of property, verbal or written threats of harm or physical assault against an individual on this list, their family, or employer, may result in your arrest and prosecution (SDCL 22-24B-16).

This list constitutes the list that law enforcement is authorized to make publicly available in Yankton County.  If you believe that any of the information found in these records is in error or is incomplete, please contact the Yankton Police Department at (605) 668-5210.
