Yankton city ordinance requires that all dogs and cats are licensed annually. The licensing period runs one year from the purchase of the tag. The annual cost is $5.00 for spayed and neutered. $10.00 for not spayed or neutered. 

• All dogs and cats must be licensed annually.

• A rabies vaccination record is required.

• Licenses are available at the Yankton Police Department 410 Walnut Street and local veterinarians.

• Police Department Hours for Pet License purchase are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
