911_dispatchThe City of Yankton Communications Center is the primary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the residents of the City of Yankton and Yankton County and a small portion of Northeast Nebraska that lies along our border to the south. We serve a population of approximately 22,500 providing a vital link between the citizens of our county and the emergency service responders that we dispatch. We are the “first” First Responders on the scene of every incident. Our eleven full-time staff are highly trained professionals that complete a minimum of 12 weeks of training with our department including emergency medical, fire and law enforcement dispatch certification prior to attending state certification training in Pierre, SD.

Our communications center operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to handle all emergency and non-emergency calls that originate within the area that we serve.
