snow shovelingSnow-free sidewalks are more than a convenience; they are a matter of public safety.  Keep in mind that children walk to school in all weather, including snow.  Clear sidewalks make it safer and easier for students and for all our neighbors traveling to and from work or school.

Property owners who have snow or ice covered public sidewalks adjacent to their property must make arrangements for snow removal within 24 hours after the end of a snowfall event.  Snow removed from driveways, sidewalks, or parking lots cannot be placed in the streets.  Please do the neighborly thing and shovel your sidewalks.

Citizens can call (605) 668-5251 to report a problem public sidewalk.

The complete sidewalk snow removal ordinance can be viewed online.
