Private sales, including garage, rummage and yard sales of personal property on individual residential lots, are permitted provided they do not negatively impact the residential nature of the neighborhood.  As a result, only four (4) private sales may be held at a specific residential address per calendar year.  No permit is required.  

Signage for private sales is allowed at the location of the sale.  All signage must be posted on private property.  Off-site signage is not permitted in residential zones, so signs may not be posted at locations other than the property where the sale is occurring. 

A good general rule is to keep signs to the inside (house side) of the public sidewalk or about fifteen (15) feet from the roadside curb if there is no sidewalk.  For the safety of all drivers and pedestrians signs cannot be posted in boulevards, attached to utility poles, street signs, street trees, light poles, or be placed in parks  Signs posted in the public right of way will be removed.
