The Administrative Division is responsible for many administrative details of the Yankton Police Department. The Administrative Division is tasked with ensuring that a high standard of professionalism and excellence in law enforcement continues to exist within the Yankton Police Department. The Administrative Division is responsible for developing and reviewing policy, and examining procedures throughout the department for efficiency and policy compliance. The Commanders report directly to the Chief of Police.

 

Citizen Complaint

As the caretaker of the public safety, it is the policy of the Yankton Police Department to properly investigate all complaints against the Department or its personnel; to equitably determine whether the allegations are valid or invalid; and to initiate appropriate closure and or corrective action as deemed necessary.
