Brian Hunhoff joined the Yankton City Commission in 2023.  He was previously a member of the Yankton County Commission from 1997-2007.

Brian has served as Yankton County Register of Deeds since 2007.  He worked for 10 years at the South Dakota Human Services Center, and worked for many years as a community journalist in the Yankton area.  Brian is an inductee in the Open Government Hall of Fame, South Dakota Newspaper Hall of Fame, South Dakota Senior Games Hall of Fame and Yankton High School Fine Arts Hall of Fame.  He is a former president of the South Dakota Association of County Officials, South Dakota Newspaper Association and South Dakota Senior Games Board of Directors.  Brian and his wife Roxann have four children and four grandchildren.
