The City of Yankton, South Dakota, requests formal bids for the Brownfields Cleanup, Asbestos Abatement, Sacred Heart Church – 509 Capital St, Sacred Heart School Link Auditorium – 504 Capital St, Yankton, SD. The project consists of asbestos abatement in the two buildings. Asbestos containing materials (greater than 1%) are present within the buildings or area. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with 40 CFR 33.

Sealed bids will be received by the Finance Office, City of Yankton, 416 Walnut St, PO Box 176, Yankton, S.D. 57078 until 3:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2024, at which time the sealed bids shall be publicly opened and read.

A pre‐bid meeting will be conducted on‐site on February 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM CST.  Attendance is recommended but not mandatory.

Bids are to be in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Sacred Heart Asbestos Abatement” with the date and time of letting and filed with the City of Yankton Finance Officer on or before the specified time.

Each bid of $100,000.00 or higher must be accompanied by a certified check or bank draft payable to the order of the City of Yankton, South Dakota, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. A bid bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid will be accepted in lieu of a certified check or bank draft. Surety for bid bond must be authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota.

The Yankton Board of City Commissioners reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, and make award(s) as deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Yankton, South Dakota.
